Mechanical Seals
Preventing Leakage

Mechanical Seals help join systems and/or mechanisms together by preventing leakage, containing pressure, or excluding contamination. A seal’s effectiveness depends on adhesion in the case of sealants and compression in the case of gaskets. At Power Dynamics Gasket Company we represent several manufacturers of mechanical seals, which enables us to provide a wide range of seal designs for general process industries.
Leakage control devices are found on rotating equipment, such as pumps and mixers, to prevent the leakage of liquids and gases from escaping into the environment.
There are many types of mechanical seals, ranging from simple single spring designs to more complex cartridge seal types.
Types of Mechanical Seals
Mechanical Seals are used in rotating equipment pumps to control leakage.
The various types of seals include: face seals, outside seals, inside seals, rotary seals, stationary seals, non-pusher seals, metal bellows seals, balanced and unbalanced seals, and double seals.
